Who are we?

Md Saifuddin Khalid

Associate Professor in Learning Technology and Digitalization at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (DTU Compute) and a Member of the Center for Digital Learning Technology

Khalid’s goal is to play the role of a change agent to solve or circumvent the barriers of developing, integrating and adopting digital systems in organizations, particularly in educational contexts by solving decision-making dilemmas at both individual and organization levels. His teaching contributes to the multi-disciplinary fields of user experience (UX), interaction design, service design, software engineering, information systems, usability engineering, and participatory design. With a background in Computer Science (Major) and Business Informatics (Minor) from Independent University, Bangladesh, Khalid adopted the methodologies and methods from participatory learning and action field in his PhD on Human-Centered Communication and Informatics (HCCI) at eLearning Lab, Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. For empathic and fun interactions in the teaching activities, he achieved the teacher of year 2016 award from the Humanities Faculty while being an Assistant Professor at the department of Learning and Philosophy, AAU. Khalid was part of technological pedagogical teaching team at AAU Learning Lab and continues research till date on value-driven designs for learning. He coordinated and contributed in the development of 20 online modules during the Erasmus+ project “Blended Learning for Teacher Educators in Europe and Asia” in collaboration with universities from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Malaysia, Pakistan, France, Estonia, and Denmark during 2016-2019. As an Associate Professor, he moved from AAU to the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark – contributed digitalization and innovation processes by involving physical movement in the design process. He also holds an external lecturer position at the Department of Digitalization at Copenhagen Business School, where he teaches Service Design (elective Master Course) and the Analysis and Design of User-Friendly Information Systems (course of Business Administration – Information Technology). Khalid is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and contributes as a reviewer of multi-disciplinary conferences and journals. He is connected with the Danish E-Learning professionals in Higher-Education institutions.

Tobias Alexander Bang Tretow-Fish

PhD student

Tobias’ background lies in teaching and learning with a bachelor’s in education. After several years teaching primary and high school students he took a masters in IT, Learning, and Organizational Change at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. Here, the seeds of his professional goals were planted: The development and examination of digital tools in educational contexts. Publishing and presenting his first paper during his masters and quickly thereafter, beginning the works of a chapter in a collaborative research project, gave him a taste for research work.

This led to his employment in a Ph.D. position at Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (DTU Compute) in the NURSEED project - Designing 21st century nursing education by integrating adaptive learning technologies – where he currently is supervised by Associate Professor Md Saifuddin Khalid.

Lasse Nielsen Langendorf

Industrial PhD Student

Lasse is a graduate of the Design & Innovation bachelor’s and master’s programs at DTU, where he ignited his passion for developing solutions while maintaining the focus on the end-user. This led to his employment as an Industrial PhD Student at Novo Nordisk. His project focuses on evaluating the different training methods and technologies used to train factory operators, which includes VR (Virtual Reality), AR/MR (Augmented Reality / Mixed Reality), Peer-Training, Classroom Training, E-Learning and more. He is currently supervised at DTU by Associate Professor MD Saifuddin Khalid.
